Data Coding: Event and Performance UIs
The Coding UIs are designed to make data coding quick and flexible
Event and Performance Coding
The Events and Performance UI tools are perfect for making smaller, ad-hoc changes to your Data Coding that don’t warrant the creation of a full coding file.
To begin coding, simply select one or more events from the Events table and click the “Edit Events” button in the toolbar underneath. This opens a window where you can view and update the current coded values. You can also do this for performances, by expanding the event drop down, and selecting the performances you wish to edit.
Multiple Values
If the selected events/performances have multiple values for a given field, the words 'Multiple values present' will display in the coding fields, and an icon will appear that allows you to hover and view the current entries. You are still able to change this field, should you wish, by clicking into the cell and entering values as usual.
Reversing Changes
If you change a value mistakenly before Saving Changes and wish to undo, you can click the reverse button to the left of the input field. Once a change has been saved however, they cannot be reversed.
Saving Changes
Once you’ve made your edits, clicking “Save Changes” will apply them across all selected events.
Event vs Performance
There are different fields available within the Event and Performance UI tools. Fields such as Event Name can only be edited at the Event level, whilst Performance Type can only be applied at the Performance level.
