Keri Mesropov here with TRG Arts. I want to share with you a project I recently undertook that I encourage arts leaders everywhere to consider trying out: a listening tour around your entire company.

Listening is the art of conversation, and the art of trust building. To fill in the blind spots you have as a leader, listening needs to be foundational to the culture you are building in your company, your department, or your team. I spent nearly 25 hours listening to each employee, and the results are going to be culture shaking at our organization. I know simply listening can do the same at yours. Follow along the next four weeks as I share what I sought to do with this listening tour, how I pulled it off, what worked and what didn’t and finally my reflections about how you can do a listening tour even more effectively at your organization.
